We know how Ikea makes its showroom as cozy and cute as possible that more than one person has wished they could stay there for just one night. Well, that actually happened in a Denmark store where almost 30 people had to make a sleepover because of a snowstorm.

Six customers and about two dozen employees from Ikea and a next-door toy shop spent the night after up to 12 inches of snow fell in northern Denmark, leaving them stranded in the store.

Ikea employees arrange everything so they and their customers could sleep in the beds from the exhibitions and showrooms.

“We slept in the furniture exhibitions and our showroom on the first floor, where we have beds, mattresses, and sofa beds,” store manager Peter Elmose told the Ekstra Bladet tabloid. People could “pick the exact bed they always have wanted to try”, according to AP news agency.

Visitor of the Aalborg store in Denmark spends the night watching tv and eating some of Ikea’s famous meatballs.

According to DR, Denmark’s public broadcaster, people working in a toy shop next door to Ikea were invited to the store since they got stranded as well.

“It’s much better than sleeping in one’s car. It has been nice and warm, and we are just happy that they would let us in,” Michelle Barrett, one of the toy shop staff, told DR.

“We just laughed at the situation because we will probably not experience it again,” Barrett added.
