Shrek has decided to take his family of five to a cool vacay and has left Donkey in charge of sitting for his beloved swamp. Of course, Donkey won’t be bored alone, so he’s inviting some hardcore fans to stay at the swamp for the Halloween weekend… and you could be the lucky one!
“Shrek’s Swamp is lovely. Just beautiful. The perfect place to entertain guests. You know what I like about it? Everything. The overgrown landscaping, the modest interiors, the nice boulders, all of it. I can’t wait for guests to experience this muddy slice of paradise for themselves,” announced Donkey.
Airbnb is offering Shrek fans a unique two-night experience for this Halloween. Besides staying at this lovely rustic land, three lucky guests will be able to experience their own fairy-tale-like vacation with several fun and relaxing activities. Naturally, as explained by Airbnb themselves, you won’t be bothered by torches, pitchforks, and intrusive Duloc Knights. But who knows, maybe some fairy-tale creatures might visit!
A romantic earwax candle dinner? Check. Nice boulder decorations. Check. A stack of freshly made waffles in the morning, for sure! A Shrek and the swamp karaoke dance party? Hopefully! Roasted rat on a stick? Well, that’s up to your culinary likes. Definitely, not sleeping girls on the table!
Where Is Shrek’s Swamp?
Don’t worry, you won’t have to travel to Far Far Away or Duloc to stay at this recreation of Shrek’s swamp. The iconic “mud-laden, moss-covered, murky-watered” swamp is located in the gorgeous Scottish Highlands. Maybe you can even make a stop to visit Nessie… although she doesn’t belong to the franchise…

So, what does this wonder stay costs? Fortunately, nothing! You won’t even have to rescue a princess from a dragon to redeem the prize! Airbnb is offering a free two-night stay at the swamp for three true Shrek fans. You will be able to visit from October 27-29.
What do you need to do, then, to win this fantastic stay? As stated on Airbnb’s website, “Onion and ogre enthusiasts can request to book this fairytale stay” at airbnb.com/shrek on October 13. The lucky chosen ones will be responsible for their own travel to and from Scotland, though.
The experience is free, because, as Airbnb does with these unique experiences, some good money will be donated to the HopScotch Children’s Charity, a local organization that looks after vulnerable children. So, a once-in-a-lifetime Shrek experience and a good-hearted action!
