You may have seen it passing near your house or in a nearby area if you live in Mexico City or even the Metropolitan Area since one of the routes that this transport has goes from Polanco to Teotihuacán. It is mainly a cargo service that transports all kinds of food and products, although it has made trips for executives on some of its routes, such as the one it took in 2010 for the commemoration of the Bicentennial of the Mexican Independence.

In addition, the company in charge of the maintenance of this train has also carried out a Christmas tradition that consists of crossing several Mexican states, such as Michoacán, San Luis Potosí, Guanajuato, Coahuila, and the State of Mexico, to deliver gifts to children in vulnerable communities. They may soon put together another executive trip for the general public, so stay tuned to be able to purchase tickets and enjoy the trip.

‘El Chepe’

This route is one of the most popular train trips in Mexico, which has been in operation since the early 60s, with a direction that goes from Chihuahua to the Pacific Ocean, crossing 653 kilometers in 14 hours. This trip can take you to areas of the state that are either very arid or very cold, as it passes through places like the Mennonite fields, the Copper Canyon, the Bisabirachi Rocks, and other tourist spots, such as the town of Creel, about which we give you more details in this link.

El Chepe offers two types of trips: the first is express, which departs every day and is used mostly by executives who have to travel from one place to another in a hurry; and the tourist, more economical, which goes from Chihuahua to Los Mochis. You can buy round-trip or one-way tickets.

This is a small tour that leaves from the Ferromex station in Guadalajara every Saturday starting at 8:00 a.m., and its objective is to take you to Mundo Cuervo, a space located in the town of Tequila, which is owned by the tequila brand José Cuervo. On this tour, you will be able to observe agave plantations and the work of hundreds of people to obtain the plant to extract the pineapple from which the distilled tequila comes.

Without a doubt, the attraction of this trip occurs when you arrive at Mundo Cuervo, a place where you can also enjoy an educational tasting to try a freshly made version of the drink, choosing between tequila blanco, reposado, and añejo. In addition, their tours of the distillery to see the process of making tequila are unparalleled, as is the Mexican show that is organized on-site, after which the trip to the magical town of Tequila is a sensory dessert that everyone should experience.
