In the video, you can see how the waterspout can be seen in the distance, while those attending the beach record and take surprised photos of what they witnessed. Experts say that this type of water tornado does not regularly pose a danger to those who are in the area where they are generated, since they are short-lived and do not advance to the mainland, so they disappear out to sea.
Due to the climatic conditions that are currently occurring, with tropical cyclone one that formed off the coasts of Tabasco and Chiapas, it was warned that this type of phenomenon could also occur in Yucatan and Quintana Roo, due to the cloudiness and strong winds that the cyclone has generated.
Why is a waterspout generated?
Waterspouts or water tornadoes are generated due to the interaction of hot and cold air within unstable environments, where storm clouds or rain occur.
As the area is cloudy of possible storms and rains due to the tropical cyclone that is being generated in the Gulf of Mexico, this was propitious for this natural phenomenon to occur very close to the shore of Tulum beach and surprise those who were present.

Although it does not represent a major danger, caution must be taken due to how unstable nature can be, so authorities recommend that if you witness a waterspout, leave the sea immediately and in case it approaches the shore dangerously, seek shelter to avoid being surprised by the strong gusts of wind that waterspouts present.
