One of these is fruit, an essential food for a healthy diet as it provides fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. However, each fruit has specific characteristics that are not well known.
For example, the properties of blueberries and tomatoes help improve memory and the cognitive system, according to a recent study by Harvard. According to their research, both fruits could help combat degenerative brain diseases like Alzheimer’s or dementia, as well as improve memory and prevent it from deteriorating easily over the years.
Blueberries are antioxidants and anti-inflammatory, protect the cardiovascular system benefiting the body, and activate the cognitive system, thanks to a supplement called NT 020, which enhances cognitive function, especially in older individuals. It provides an improvement in signal transmission between brain cells, translating into motor skills. Meanwhile, tomatoes contain a high amount of flavonoids, a diverse group of phytonutrients (plant chemicals) found in many fruits, vegetables, and spices.
Although not the only benefits, both fruits contain lycopene, classified as a powerful antioxidant that could help protect cells from oxidative damage, making it a natural remedy for memory. Additionally, consuming blueberries helps strengthen the immune system, aiding in fighting infections. This is because they contain vitamins A, B, and C. Furthermore, by containing pterostilbene and vitamin D, they stimulate immune function.
Containing B-group vitamins contributes to better oxygenation and blood circulation in the body, benefiting hair growth and skin rejuvenation.
