Kamala Harris is ready for her next act. The former Vice President has signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA), one of Hollywood’s most influential talent and sports agencies, in one of her first major moves since leaving the White House. The deal positions Harris alongside a star-studded roster that includes Beyoncé, Brad Pitt, Ariana Grande, and her former boss, Joe Biden, who re-signed with CAA just two weeks after his presidency ended.

The Los Angeles-based agency, known for representing A-listers across entertainment, sports, and politics, announced it will “work closely with Harris on her post-White House initiatives” and “expand her platform in support of the issues she has championed throughout her decades-long career in public service.” The partnership will focus on speaking engagements, publishing opportunities, and strategic projects that align with Harris’s advocacy work.

A Hollywood Power Move

Harris’s signing with CAA is more than just a career pivot—it’s a statement. The agency, which also represents former President Barack Obama, has become a go-to for political heavyweights looking to amplify their voices beyond the confines of government. For Harris, this move signals a deliberate effort to remain in the public eye while exploring new avenues to influence policy and culture.

“CAA will work closely with Harris on her post-White House initiatives, creating strategic opportunities that expand her platform in support of the issues she has championed throughout her decades-long career in public service,” the agency said in a statement.

Harris’s partnership with CAA reunites her with Biden, who worked with the agency from 2017 to 2020. During that time, CAA helped Biden navigate his post-Vice Presidency, including the publication of his bestselling memoir, Promise Me, Dad, which chronicled the loss of his son Beau Biden to cancer.

A Political Future in the Wings?

Speculation about her political future is already swirling. A recent poll from Emerson College Polling/Inside California Politics/The Hill suggests that Harris would be the frontrunner in a potential 2026 gubernatorial race in California, as current Governor Gavin Newsom approaches his term limit. Among Democratic respondents, 57% said they would support Harris, far outpacing former Representative Katie Porter, who garnered just 9% support.

Harris, however, has remained coy about her next steps. During a recent visit to California communities affected by wildfires, she deflected questions about her political ambitions, saying,

“I have been home for two weeks and three days. My plans are to be in touch with my community, to be in touch with the leaders and figure out what I can do to support them.”

Still, her actions suggest a leader who isn’t ready to fade into the background. Harris is set to accept the NAACP Chairman’s Award at the NAACP Image Awards later this week, marking her first televised appearance since leaving office. The award honors individuals who “excel in public service and leverage their unique platforms to ignite and drive meaningful change.”

A Legacy of Advocacy

Harris’s partnership with CAA also opens the door to new opportunities in publishing. The former Vice President has already authored two books: The Truths We Hold: An American Journey (2019) and Smart on Crime: A Career Prosecutor’s Plan to Make Us Safer (2009). Both works blend memoir with policy insights, offering a blueprint for her political philosophy and personal journey.

While no new publishing deal has been announced, Harris’s history suggests that another book—and perhaps a book tour—could be on the horizon. Such projects would not only bolster her public profile but also provide a platform to address the issues she cares about most, like criminal justice reform and women’s rights.

Hollywood’s Political Playground

CAA’s growing roster of political clients underscores the intersection of entertainment and politics. In addition to Harris and Biden, the agency represents Senator Joe Manchin, former Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and former presidential candidates Beto O’Rourke and Andrew Yang. This trend reflects a broader shift in how political figures leverage their influence, using media, publishing, and public speaking to shape narratives and drive change.

For Harris, the partnership with CAA is a chance to redefine her legacy and explore new ways to make an impact. As she told supporters in her concession speech last November,

“This is not a time to throw up our hands. This is a time to roll up our sleeves. This is a time to organize, to mobilize, and to stay engaged for the sake of freedom and justice and the future that we all know we can build together.”

Harris’s future remains unwritten, but her signing with CAA signals a bold new chapter. She may return to politics, write another memoir, or step into a new role as a global advocate. One thing is certain: Kamala Harris isn’t going anywhere.

The political world is closely observing Harris’s next steps. Her partnership with CAA guarantees that her voice and vision for the future will continue to have a lasting impact well beyond traditional spheres of influence.
