Adele is one of the most famous artists in the world, as her voice and music have made millions of people fall in love with her; however, contrary to what we all might think, her life has not been perfect. Recently, the singer confessed to the public that for several years, she has been struggling with alcoholism, a disease that has haunted her since she was around 20 years old.
Adele explained during the closing of her tour in Las Vegas that she was on the verge of alcoholism, and although she has now stopped drinking, it is something she misses very much. “I stopped drinking about three and a half months ago. It’s boring. I mean, I was literally on the verge of alcoholism for much of my 20s, but I miss it a lot,” she said.
The “Rolling in the Deep” performer revealed that she can’t help but feel envious about seeing her fans having a glass of alcohol.
Adele Talks About Her Alcohol Problem
Adele talked about how she has lived her relationship with alcohol for several years, which she said was not healthy because she drank too much. The British artist detailed that the COVID-19 pandemic was one of the worst moments because due to the confinement she ended up getting much more hooked on drinking.
“I think it was eleven o’clock in the morning, and I had drunk four bottles of wine. It’s just that we were all at home, and I was drunk all the time,” she commented. The death of her father and her divorce would have been the triggers, considered by the singer, that could have made her addiction complicated.
Finally, she acknowledged that although everything seemed more boring without alcohol, she knows that it is the right path, so although these months have been difficult because of the withdrawal syndrome, she hopes that the next ones will be much better.
