If there’s someone very real with herself and her followers about beauty standards and body positivity, that is Amy Schumer. The actress and comedian has always been quite open about her body, her insecurities, and how to love ourselves as we are.
Now, once again, Schumer has given us a valuable lesson on the matter with a shameless selfie that leaves very little to the imagination. The actress took to social media to share a picture that celebrates her body. In the IG story, Amy appears almost naked but displays a huge smile. She captioned the photo with a funny message: “Still got it (40 extra lbs).”
The photo was taken in her bathroom, even showing some of her toiletries; you know, keeping it real! But what’s more valuable about the image, isn’t her nude body covered only with black underwear, but her body language and facial expression. She’s fearless, shameless, and proud!

As mentioned, this isn’t the first time she has decided to put herself in a vulnerable position to give her followers a funny yet deep lesson. A couple of months ago, the actress shared two photos on her account to talk about aging, one from some years ago and one more recent where she appears with messy hair at the hospital. The caption read: “Warning 20 somethings. I looked like this at your age. Life is coming for you.”
Amy Schumer has also been quite open about the cosmetic procedures she’s undergone in the past. Two years ago, she shared her experience with liposuction, a procedure she decided to undergo after having to endure surgery to remove her uterus and appendix to treat her endometriosis. But beyond that, she’s been very vocal about doing what she considers to “feel the best” after her 40th birthday.
“I got lipo and I had a great experience doing that. I used to be really judgmental about people getting work done. Now I’m like, do everything you can to love yourself exactly as you are, but once you turn 40 and have a c-section, do whatever the f—k will make you feel best!”
Amy Schumer finished last year in the middle of a controversy on social media for comments she made about the conflict in Gaza and Israel. And although many still hold a grudge against her, she seems determined to start this new year with a new and more positive vibe.
