In the interview, the actor explained that his actions had nothing to do with cannibalism or any strange fantasies; it was part of a hunting tradition.
“No, you don’t eat the whole heart,” he explained. “One of the traditions is you take a bite out of the heart, and you got all your buddies around you, they are boating you on, it’s sort of like an overly charged male rite of passage when you go hunting for the first time.”
Now, I don’t know about you, but I still find this whole thing a bit strange. Hammer insisted he never intended to eat anyone, and what he did was completely taken out of context.

He also spoke about the alleged messages that painted him as a cannibal, claiming the chats were manipulated. While he admits some of his texts were graphic, he explained they were part of an exaggerated seduction dynamic, often influenced by alcohol or drugs.
“When you’re in a relationship and you’re intimate with someone, sometimes you like to play and push boundaries,” he commented. “But one thing is to talk about something, and another is actually doing it.”
Hammer also discussed how this scandal affected his life and sexuality, noting that part of his behavior stemmed from unresolved trauma. After all, it’s hard for anyone to not be impacted when the whole internet thinks you’re a cannibal.
