Armie Hammer, the once-rising Hollywood star, who faced shocking allegations of cannibalism and sexual misconduct in 2021, recently revealed that he’s been forced to sell his truck because he can no longer afford to keep it on the road.
The Call Me by Your Name actor shared his plight in a candid video posted to social media, recorded at a CarMax in California. Hammer explained that since his return to Los Angeles, the cost of fueling his truck has become overwhelming. “Since being back in L.A., I’ve put about $400 or $500 worth of gas in it, and I just can’t afford it anymore,” Hammer admitted.

Despite the sentimental value, Hammer decided it was time to trade it in for something more practical — a car that would only need “like 10 bucks of gas in it a month,” as he put it.

Armie Hammer Faces Cannibalism and Abuse Allegations
In 2021, the actor was accused by several women of sexual abuse and inappropriate behavior, and alleged private messages he sent to women about his cannibalistic fantasies and sexual fetishes were leaked to the prisoner.

After being dropped by the talent agency and pulled from several film projects, Armie Hammer retreated to the Cayman Islands. There, he reportedly took on a job as a timeshare salesman, a stark contrast to his former life as a Hollywood leading man. Rumors about his work at a hotel resort in the Caymans, including whether he was employed as a concierge, spread like wildfire last year, further fueling speculation about his fall from grace.
Despite the tumultuous years and the ongoing controversies surrounding him, Hammer has expressed gratitude for the events that derailed his career.

“Even in the discrepancies, in whatever it was that people said, whatever it was that happened, I’m now at a place in my life where I’m grateful for every single bit of it,” he said. The actor also added: “I’m actually now at a place where I’m really grateful for it because where I was in my life before all of that stuff happened to me… I didn’t feel good. I never felt satisfied, I never had enough. I never was in a place where I was happy with myself… where I had self-esteem.”
For now, it seems like Hammer is trying to piece his life back together, — starting with selling off the truck that once symbolized his success.
