Why Was Britney Spears Assaulted?
The incident occurred on Wednesday, July 5, in Las Vegas. After the incident, she filed a police report. Britney went to the Catch restaurant in the ARIA Hotel around 8:30 pm with her husband Sam Asghari and two other companions. The moment she set foot at the casino and restaurant, fans surrounded her wanting photos.
Once they managed to bypass the seas of fans, Britney spotted the NBA player. Being a fan of the team and Victor himself, Britney didn’t think much and approached him to get a photo with him. According to witnesses, she tapped him on his shoulder, and immediately one of his security members slapped her. She fell to the ground, and her glasses were knocked off.
She recovered from the assault and went to her table. It’s said that minutes later, once everybody got time to digest what had happened, the security member, identified as Damian Smith, the Director of Team Security for the Spurs, approached her table and apologized for the incident. “You understand how it is when you’re being swarmed by fans,” he said and added he didn’t know who she was he was simply protecting his client.
Britney’s own team approached Victor Wembanyama’s team and later on filed a police report alleging battery. Early this morning, TMZ reported that the incident was filed as a criminal investigation and that they will be taking this incident “as serious as a heart attack.”
Poor Britney was just fan-girling and got assaulted for that!
