The Met Gala is definitely one of the most glamorous events worldwide, attended each year by figures from the music, film, and fashion industries, showcasing spectacular outfits.
It takes place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City, United States, organized by Vogue, and the editor-in-chief Anna Wintour is responsible for curating the guest list for one of the most anticipated red carpets for fashion enthusiasts.

Although Wintour has admitted that only one person is excluded from the event, there are some other celebrities who, due to negative comments towards the Met, will not receive an invitation again.
And then there are those who, after attending the gala, expressed feeling uncomfortable and would not like to repeat the experience.
Celebrities we won’t see at the Met Gala
Donald Trump
Vogue editor Anna Wintour admitted to James Corden that Donald Trump is definitively excluded from the event when the host asked which celebrity she would never invite to the Met Gala.
Demi Lovato
The singer spoke about her experience attending the gala in an interview with Billboard magazine in 2018. She admitted that she didn’t have a good time because there was someone “making life miserable for everyone.”
After the event, Demi went to an Al-Anon meeting because, due to the pressure of the moment, she thought about returning to drinking.

Gwyneth Paltrow
The actress confessed that she didn’t love the experience of attending the event, as “it’s crowded, very hot, everyone pushes you.” These are definitely the not-so-glamorous parts of these types of galas.
Although the comments were not to the organizer’s liking, Gwyneth returned to the gala in 2017.

Tim Gunn
He himself admitted to being banned from the Met Gala when Melissa Rivers asked him on a TV show. The fashion guru responded that the reason for the beef with Anna Wintour was saying that the most unforgettable thing he had seen in the fashion industry was seeing the Vogue editor being carried down five steps in the arms of two bodyguards leaving a fashion show.

Zayn Malik
Who could forget when in 2016 we saw one of the former One Direction members attend this event with his then-girlfriend Gigi Hadid, but in the singer’s words, it’s not something he would do again. Zayn confessed that he prefers to ‘stay at home than to go out to that red carpet dressed in exclusive clothing.’

Lili Reinhart
The actress attended the much-anticipated event in 2022, but publicly admitted that she didn’t believe she would be invited back after criticizing the way Kim Kardashian quickly lost weight to wear Marilyn Monroe’s dress at the same gala.

Amy Schumer
Although she was invited and attended on occasion, the American made it publicly known that she has no interest in returning to the Met, as she is not interested in the world of fashion.

Tina Fey
The American comedian also joins the list of celebrities who would not return to the Met. “She will never go again. You go and the space is wonderful, but everyone wears these weird things and you have to climb a huge staircase,” she explained to David Letterman.

Met Gala 2024
The Met Gala 2024 will take place this Monday, May 6th at 5:30 p.m. E.T.
The chosen theme is ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening’, which seeks to bring back 50 iconic pieces from the history of fashion.
