Kim Kardashian never tires of doing social work. We should remember that she recently met with former President Donald Trump to advocate for pardoning prisoners, and she has been a vocal supporter of inmates she believes have been unjustly convicted in the United States.

So, it’s no surprise that on April 25th, the socialite returned to the White House, this time with Vice President Kamala Harris, White House Director of Public Engagement Steve Benjamin, and several recently pardoned ex-convicts to discuss criminal justice reform. At the start of the roundtable, Kamala Harris expressed her gratitude to Kim for her involvement in the cause and her activism, offering her a few kind words. They also recalled Kim’s previous work when she urged Donald Trump to grant clemency to men and women who had been wrongfully convicted.

“I want to thank Kim for your advocacy and for using your platform in a way that has really lifted up the importance of talking about and being dedicated to second chances,” Harris said to the Kardashian Clan member.

One of Kim Kardashian’s most notable successes was in 2018 when President Donald Trump granted clemency to Alice Marie Johnson, a woman who was unjustly accused and sentenced in the 1990s for a first-time nonviolent drug offense. As they say, good deeds tend to multiply, and not long after, she did the same for other inmates that she believed had been wrongfully sentenced. Kim also expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to meet with the Vice President and said she was honored to participate in the assembly.

“I am super honored to be here to hear your stories today, and I think it’s so important to share them and amplify them because there are so many people that are in your position that could use the inspiration,” Kardashian said. “I’m just here to help and spread the word.”

Kamala Harris also discussed specific crimes that should be pardoned, mentioning cases where she believes the sentences are unjust.

“For example, on marijuana, we have pardoned all people for federal convictions for simple marijuana possession,” she said, referring to the Biden administration’s work on the issue. “Many of you have heard me say I just don’t think people should have to go to jail for smoking weed. And these pardons have been issued as an extension of that approach.”

Kim Kardashian Aspires to Study Law

Kim Kardashian has mentioned in the past that she wants to study law and follow in the footsteps of her late father, Robert Kardashian, who defended the late O.J. Simpson in his double murder trial. Back to Kim, she even admitted in 2019 that she was studying for the bar exam.
