Finally 'Going To Talk About It'- Ellen DeGeneres Sets Final Comedy Special

After facing toxic workplace allegations with The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the 66-year-old comedian announced  her final comedy special on Netflix.

“To answer the questions everyone is asking me- Yes, I’m going to talk about it. Yes this is my last special. Yes, Portia really is that pretty in real life,” she said.

This is not the first time Ellen is featured on Netflix, since she had a stand-up special called ‘Relatable.’

Ben Winston and Fulwell73 will serve as the special’s producers, and Robbie Praw, who is in charge of several comedy specials on Netflix, said that he “can’t wait to bring fans another one of her hilarious comedy specials later this year.'”

He also mentioned his admiration for Ellen, saying there is nobody quite like her: ‘She is a true legend and pioneer in so many ways,” he added.

According to Just Jared, Ellen will also begin a multi-city stand-up tour on June 19, starting in San Diego, California.

What Happened To Ellen DeGeneres?

After premiering in 2003, The Ellen Degeneres show was caught in the middle of a controversy when its host, Ellen DeGeneres, was accused anonymously by former and current staffers of sexual misconduct, racism, and intimidation, including claims of being penalized for taking medical leave, instances of racial microaggressions, and fear of retribution for raising complaints.

When the show was investigated following staff complaints, Ellen sent a letter to her team and later announced that producers Ed Glavin, Kevin Leman, and co-producer Jonathan Norman had been fired. But Ellen’s apology was not enough. The show ended after 19 seasons, and it was one of the most popular talk shows in American history.
