The new season of American Horror Story: Delicate starring Kim Kardashian and Emma Roberts is about to premiere, but despite the unique and mesmerizing aesthetic and the intriguing plot, it seems that what happens behind the camera is catching even more attention, and no, it has nothing to do with the leader of the Kardashian clan.

Angelica Ross, who is part of this unique cast, exposed during a live session on social media that Emma Roberts misgendered her, a transphobic move that many transgender people endure every day. According to the actress, Emma was joking during the set shouting that “Angelica was being mean with her.”

Many fans deduced that she was saying these things to the series director John J. Gray, who, to stop the silliness, simply said “OK, ladies, you know, that’s enough. Let’s get back to work.” According to Ross, that’s when Emma displayed her transphobia when she replied, “Don’t you mean lady?” Of course, this implies that there was only a woman among the two of them.

Angelica recalls that she felt furious towards the actress since this wasn’t the first time she was kind of mean to her. “I’m standing there, she walked away, and my blood is boiling. Boiling because I’m like, if I say something, it’s gonna be me that’s the problem. And I know this because there was someone who spoke up about what she was doing, and they got repercussions from it. Not her — they did.”

Angelica Ross, also said that Emma showed this trait on another occasion that fans presume was the premier of the new season of American Horror Story: Delicate. Ross explained that she was joking around with co-star Cody Fern and trying to imitate his accent when Emma decided to mock her by making a very deep voice. “Didn’t know he had one. Emma then copies my voice & laughs and drops it several octaves. I was SHOOK. She read me for blood with my own words of course I was self-conscious about my voice on set after that.”

Was Emma Roberts a Bully on Set?

Angelica Ross wasn’t only mad about the transphobic attitudes Emma Roberts had towards her. She stated that the actress isn’t precisely a nice person to work with. After the first incident, Ross explained: “When I saw that happening, I was just like, ‘I’m done. I’m done.’ I didn’t speak to that bitch the entire time after that. She said to me she could feel the energy coming off of me. She was like, ‘Are you OK? You haven’t been talking.’ I’m like, ‘Mmhmm,’ Cause bitch don’t play me. You’ve been playing mind games with everybody on the set, and everybody’s been waiting for the moment that you would get me.”

Although no one on the cast has exposed Roberts, Ross assured that this isn’t the first time the actress is mean since she also “irritated all of the cast members on the set of ‘American Horror Story: 1988‘” The season, released in 2019, was the last one Emma Roberts participated in the saga since this new installment.

Emma Roberts Apologizes

As it happens with this sort of news, fans and allies jump to defend their community and this wasn’t the exception. Allegedly, once Angelica Ross exposed these attitudes, fans went to Emma Roberts to threaten her. Ross said it wasn’t funny to threaten her nor be violent towards her, however, she did add: “Let me make something absolutely clear,” Ross wrote. “I appreciate the support but please do not joke about violence towards Emma. Joke about her being held accountable.”

Of course, Emma Roberts found out about everything and allegedly apologized to Ross in private. The latter thanked her for the apology but encouraged her to use her platform to support the cause and help people understand why these attitudes are wrong:

“Thank you @RobertsEmma for calling and apologizing, recognizing your behavior was not that of an ally. I will leave the line open to follow up on your desire to do better and support social justice causes with your platform.”
