It seems the Royal Family decided to start 2024 on the right foot and get their health pending worked up! Today, Kensington Palace, William and Kate’s office, announced that the Princess of Wales was “admitted to hospital yesterday for planned abdominal surgery.”
Although the statement doesn’t give details on the surgery or what was afflicting the princess, they did communicate that the surgery was successful, although it seems it was a complex procedure since it is “expected that she will remain in the hospital for ten to fourteen days, before returning home to continue her recovery.”
They added she won’t be returning to her public duties “until after Easter.” Kate Middleton is one of the royals with the most scheduled activities, but most of them had to be postponed or canceled. She is also the most popular royal at the moment, which means that her absence would be deeply missed and could even affect the public image of the institution.
Now, if that wasn’t enough, Buckingham Palace announced right after that King Charles III would also be admitted to the hospital this week for a corrective procedure “for an enlarged prostate.” They also clarified that his condition, albeit common for men his age, is “benign” but they aim to prevent any possible complication.
Unlike Kate, King Charles will be back soon for his public engagements as the recovery period is expected to be shorter. So, this means that for the upcoming weeks, the two most relevant royals will be out of the spotlight dealing with health issues.
Not many details are expected in the future about both Kate Middleton and King Charles‘ condition unless something relevant comes out. So, everybody is sending their best wishes and hoping them the best recovery possible.
