In it she thanked him for all his support in becoming the human being he is now and for the memorable childhood she left him. At the same time, at the ceremony where he was awarded Best Leading Actor in a Drama, he snubbed his father, whom he previously described as a “bad person.”
“She is just an absolutely wonderful woman who was responsible for raising seven children alone in a studio (…) There was a guy there, who did nothing,” said the protagonist of Succession.
Kieran Culkin’s Mother Is in Serious Health
And now, that sincere and emotional speech makes more sense, since, just two days after the award ceremony, it was announced that Kieran Culkin’s mother is in serious health. Brentrup, the celebrity’s stepfather, revealed to Page Six that Patricia, 69, has faced “difficult times with her health” and that Kieran has been checking in and helping her with doctor appointments.
“Kieran was taking care of her and she went to the doctors in the city (…) All the children have been a great help, without a doubt. Just from Patty, they have a lot of love, she is an amazing woman,” he said.
For this reason, he said, the actor’s mother did not attend his son Macaulay Culkin’s Hollywood Star of Fame event last month.
“Patty was invited and they wanted to take her on a plane, but she has been going through difficult times with her health,” explained the couple of the famous mother.
Likewise, Brentrup highlighted that “we are proud of Kieran and we are very happy that life is just beginning for him. But we have nine children and we love them all.”
“No one receives more love than the other. That’s how his mother raised them, although Kieran always thought he was the favorite!,” she added.
She also revealed that they watched a few episodes of Succession, not because of a lack of support for their children, but because they were not very fans of watching television. Although the love that the actor has for his mother is evident, knowing that she has had complications with his health makes the feeling greater.
