Kylie Jenner has become an inspiration for many people; the Kardashian-Jenner sisters have been role models for a large community, even if their examples are not always the right ones.
Their lifestyle has created ambitious and stereotypical aspirations, combined with insecurities and frustrations they are not aware of… or they claim they’re not aware of. We can’t deny that the Kardashians have indeed fed our insecurities even if they don’t take responsibility for it.
Kylie Jenner Claims She Has Not Resorted to Cosmetic Surgery
On numerous occasions, Kylie Jenner has assured that she has not resorted to cosmetic surgeries, even recently through an episode of her reality show, she mentioned that she only wears fillers since she had many insecurities as a young girl. “I’ve never had plastic surgery in my life,” said the businesswoman.
These comments have generated thousands of comments in which fans assure that they do not believe what she says, since, they consider, she has been -along with her sisters- a great bearer of stereotypes and insecurities in society. Not to mention, her before and after photos show otherwise.
“I feel like we have a lot of influence, and what are we doing with our power? I think I see a lot of young girls online now who like to edit completely. I went through that stage too, and I feel like I’m in a better place, but other people can instill insecurities in you,” Kylie Jenner mentioned.

The Kardashians Have Indeed Contributed to Feeding Our Insecurities
We can all agree that the sister’s strategy has worked very well. The Kardashian-Jenner family always showed they were not comfortable with their bodies, pointing out certain details as “flaws,” and even criticizing if they noticed them on someone else.
As time went by, they all began to show off some aesthetic “fixes:” botox, implants, fillers, and alterations, among others. They showed off these changes with pride, and that’s fine, if it makes them feel good, it’s not bad, what’s bad is the way they share it with the public.
We, seeing all this message, of course, look much more closely at our bodies, and we can’t avoid the craze to look like them; from makeup and clothes to body type, lifestyle, and luxuries. More so if all fashion and beauty companies take them as the standard to follow.
They practically became an aspiration for us and, unconsciously, we want to look like them because we see them so “perfect” that we feel far from that “perfection.” Also, if we see them as a business, each sister appeals to an age range and style, and there will always be someone with whom we feel more identified, and that is the purpose, that every type of person in the world falls under their influence.
When we work on our insecurities and our mental health, we realize that this is rather unnatural. We are not saying that surgeries are bad, if you have already worked emotionally to receive it and it makes you feel better, that’s fine, but if you use them to generate insecurities about the rest of the world, something is wrong.

Beauty Standards Shouldn’t Exist, and They Have Set Them Too High
When we see that some people fall into that influence, the rest of us who have not, start to doubt if we are doing the right thing and ask ourselves: why don’t we look like them? The comparisons are harsh and very painful, but that’s the point.
Another major problem is that the Kardashian-Jenners do not take responsibility for the influence they have, especially on young women, even underage girls… they simply disassociate themselves by saying that it is their life and that they would never harm anyone. Yes, it is our responsibility to decide what we do with our bodies, but we cannot deny that the influence of public figures becomes the aspirational model we all plan to reach one day.
Therefore, messages must be modified; if you are a person with so much power over the masses, you must have a discourse that does not infringe on anyone’s well-being. That is the key.
