The sudden passing of Matthew Perry shook the world, but it’s definitely taken a toll on his Friends. It’s been two weeks since the sad news of Perry’s death took the entertainment world by surprise, and although the eyes of the world turned to his Friends’ co-stars, they all decided to take their time to assimilate this huge loss.
Matt Leblanc has finally addressed this loss with an emotional and heartbreaking message on Instagram. For us fans, we couldn’t bear the thought of thinking about Joey losing Chandler, and above all the reactions, it was Matt Leblanc’s the one people were worried the most.

Accompanied with some touching photos from the series that made them famous, Matt Leblanc wrote:
“Matthew: It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among the favorite times of my life. It was an honor to share the stage with you and to call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never. Spread your wings and fly brother you’re finally free. Much love. And I guess you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me.”
Matt Leblanc is the first of the main cast to publicly speak about the death of Matthew Perry, although all the remaining five stars were spotted at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles for Perry’s funeral. Reports say that David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt Leblanc, and Jennifer Aniston looked devastated but didn’t interact much with other attendees. They didn’t attend the burial of Matthew Perry’s body.
In addition, it was reported that among the five, it was Jennifer Aniston the one that was reeling the most over the sad loss of the actor. According to Matthew Perry himself, Aniston was the one who stayed the closest to him during these past years.
We’ll probably see the rest of the cast pouring their souls with messages for Matthew Perry in the future. Or maybe they’re not ready to address their pain in public. What is true is that this is definitely a huge loss for them and us. As Matt Leblanc said, he’s finally free!
