The death of Matthew Perry last year was undoubtedly an event that marked the world of entertainment, not only because of the tragic way in which the actor lost his life but because of everything that the performer represented and the difficult battle that for years remained against drugs. However, as time has passed, little by little more and more details have been revealed about his death and the life that Perry led before that happened. But although several people, including his co-star on Friends, Jennifer Aniston, indicated that Matthew was happy and completely clean of drugs before his death, recent sources close to the star have questioned these claims.
According to a recent article published by Us Weekly, three anonymous sources stated that the actor’s life was not as it has been portrayed to us and that in reality Perry had a history of abuse and had even lied about his sobriety for years.

The Truth About Matthew Perry?
The Us Weekly report brought to the table several testimonies from people very close to Matthew Perry who claimed that although he was not a bad person, his addiction had completely deformed his personality. Although the police confirmed that at the time of his death, the artist did not have traces of illegal substances, such as fentanyl or methamphetamines, in his system, the actor’s inner circle supposedly had suspicions that Matthew had died of an overdose.
The reason behind these suspicions was that most of his friends thought that he had never been able to adequately address his mental health issues. Therefore, long before Perry died, the testimonies of those interviewed revealed that the actor had been involved in several problems. One of the sources said that Matthew crashed his Aston Martin several times while he was high; while another person claimed that the Whole Nine Yards star had even physically attacked Morgan Moses, a friend of the actor and an addiction expert, in March 2022 for confronting him about his relapse.
“He threw Moses against a wall, threw something at her, and pushed her onto a bed” and sometime later, she allegedly told him: “If I wanted to hurt you, I would have.”

But this would not be the only occasion on which Perry had become aggressive, as several interviewees claimed that he was known for punching walls, overturning tables, and throwing things during his angry outbursts. Another source even alleged that a young ex-girlfriend of the star had threatened him in 2020 with suing him for emotional and psychological abuse after he “got her addicted to drugs, including oxycodone and painkillers.”
Despite these new allegations, the accusations against Matthew Perry have not been confirmed by Morgan Moses, the Los Angeles police, or the alleged ex-girlfriend, who have avoided commenting on the matter, but they have not been denied by anyone, including the actor’s team of representatives.
