It doesn’t matter how bad things are between a family member you love, when they’re having a hard time, one leaves everything to support them. At least that’s what Prince Harry has demonstrated since he announced he was traveling to London as soon as news of his father’s diagnosis was made public.
On Monday, Buckingham Palace released a devastating statement announcing that King Charles had been diagnosed with cancer. The British monarch underwent surgery to treat his enlarged prostate (as disclosed by Buckingham Palace, as well) a couple of weeks ago, and according to the statement, doctors discovered he also had cancer.
However, unlike what many thought at the beginning, the King doesn’t have prostate cancer, and the location of the tumor won’t be disclosed to the public. Still, although reports claim he has a good prognosis and that the cancer was caught on time, Prince Harry decided to fly all over from California to be next to his father while he keeps receiving the treatment.

According to the Daily Mail, the Duke of Sussex has already arrived in London, although his wife and kids stayed in the US. Harry reportedly took a British Airways commercial flight just hours after the announcement was made, and royalists and fans are hoping this harsh news can heal the rift between the Sussexes and the Royal Family.
Reports claim King Charles is resting after the first doses of treatments at his former home, Clarence House, and it’s expected that Harry will stay at Frogmore Cottage to be near his father. He’s been there just for a few hours, but everything points to a family reconciliation.
King Charle’s former press secretary, Kristina Kyriacou, stated today that “Charles adores Harry. He didn’t want any of this estrangement. If out of bad news, some good news comes and Harry and the King and the Queen and his brother are reunited – how wonderful.” However, it’s still unknown if the brothers have already met.

Prince Harry’s rapid response to this crisis might come from something his father told him and Prince William once: “Please boys, don’t make my final years a misery.” These were shared by Harry in his memoir Spare and people are certain he’s willing to solve things with his family to fulfill that promise.
Another thing fans expect is for Prince Harry to make amends with his sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, who is also recovering from a mysterious abdominal surgery. The Princess of Wales has left the hospital and is now resting at her home in Kensington Palace. In the meantime, it seems Prince William, heir to the throne, will be extremely busy covering for his wife and father with some important royal duties.
Let’s hope they all bury the hatchet, and soon Meghan Markle and her kids, Archie and Lilibet Diana can also meet with their grandfather.
