Prince William, heir apparent to the British throne, received cards with good wishes for King Charles III and Kate Middleton on Thursday in his first official engagement since his wife announced in March that she has cancer.

The Duke of Cambridge thanked the volunteers for their kindness during a visit to the Surrey-based charity Surplus to Supper, west of London, although he did not mention the health status of the Duchess or his father.

Both are undergoing treatment for cancer that has not been specified, although in the case of the king, it was specified in February that it is not prostate cancer.

William reappears after emotional video from Kate Middleton

According to images released by the BBC, Prince William donned an apron and helped mix a Bolognese sauce in one of the pots at the surplus food distribution NGO, while showing interest in their social and recycling work.

After this act, he visited a youth civic center that receives food from that organization, all as part of his return to work agenda after a break during the Easter holidays to be with his family.

Protecting the environment for future generations is one of the main causes by the eldest son of Charles III and the late Princess Diana, who founded the Earthshot Prize in 2020 to recognize innovative ideas to tackle the climate crisis.

With the king and Kate Middleton ill, the rest of the royal family must take on the official agenda, especially William and Queen Camilla, as well as the monarch’s siblings, Anne and Edward.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry send a message of support to Kate Middleton

A few weeks ago, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, expressed their wish for “health and recovery” for Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, after she shared her cancer diagnosis. In a brief statement, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said they hoped Kate and her family could heal “privately and in peace”.

At that time, Kate Middleton confirmed that the news was a “big shock” after “a couple of incredibly difficult months.” She said she was “doing well” and “improving every day.” Details about the type of cancer have not yet been revealed, although Kensington Palace says she is confident she will make a full recovery.

Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior members of the royal family in January 2020. They moved to California in June of that year, saying they wanted space to raise their son, Archie. Their second daughter, Lilibet, was born the following year. After his father’s recent cancer diagnosis, King Charles III, Harry briefly visited the UK to see him. During the trip, Harry did not meet with his brother.

King Charles III’s message to Kate Middleton

King Charles III has expressed great pride in his daughter-in-law, Kate Middleton, after the Princess of Wales revealed that she has cancer. “I am very proud of Kate for speaking out as she did.” The Princess of Wales released a video message confirming that tests after her abdominal surgery in January had indicated the presence of cancer and she was now undergoing “preventative chemotherapy”.

A spokesperson for the king later noted that His Majesty “has remained in close contact with his beloved daughter-in-law in recent weeks.” The king and queen “will continue to offer their love and support to the entire family at this difficult time.” Currently, Charles III is also receiving treatment for cancer.

What’s happening with Kate Middleton?

In the video, Kate Middleton explained that she is in the early stages of cancer treatment. The wife of Prince William mentioned that the news was a “big shock” and that her family has gone through “incredibly difficult months.”

Kate, 42, admitted that it was a very difficult situation to explain everything to her children George, Charlotte, and Louis to reassure them that everything will be fine. “Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and security.” she stated.

Kate Middleton noted that her abdominal surgery earlier this year was successful, but subsequent tests found cancer present in her body.
