Rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs has broken silence after a video surfaced showing him brutally beating and kicking his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. The footage, released by CNN, dates back to 2016 and was captured in a hotel hallway.
The music producer finally spoke out two days after social media revealed the shocking images and after the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office announced that it could not file charges against him for the alleged incident due to California’s statute of limitations.
Oh those acting lessons Sean P Diddy Combs took for Take Him to the Greek are really paying off with those🐊 tears.

“I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help. I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. But I’m committed to be a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”
The artist claims to have sought professional help and had to go to therapy to rehabilitate himself. “I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m very sorry, but I am committed to being a better man every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness.”
Although many fans have mentioned that it’s terrible he didn’t directly apologize to Cassie Ventura in the video, many people feel he is only apologizing because the video was exposed on social media.
At no point did the musician mention Cassie, also known as Cassie Ventura, with whom he had an on-and-off relationship for about a decade until their breakup in 2018. He also made no reference to her or to the four women and one man who are accusing him of sexual abuse and physical assaults.
Disturbing to Watch
“We are aware of the video circulating online that allegedly shows Sean Combs assaulting a young woman in Los Angeles,” said the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office in a statement after the surveillance footage was released. “The footage appears extremely disturbing and difficult to watch.”
He claimed: “If the conduct described occurred in 2016, unfortunately, we would not be able to file charges, as it would be beyond the statute of limitations for prosecuting an assault. To date, authorities have not presented a related case.”
Rapper 50 Cent has criticized Sean “Diddy” Combs’ apology video, which he posted on social media after footage emerged showing the music mogul attacking his ex-girlfriend Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura.
50 Cent’s Reaction
CCTV footage from a 2016 incident shows Combs chasing Ventura down a hotel hallway before punching and kicking her to the floor. Wearing only a towel around his waist and a pair of socks, Combs then attempts to drag Ventura back down the corridor.
Posting to Instagram in response to Combs’ subsequent apology video, 50 Cent – real name Curtis Jackson – said: “This is not going to work, who is advising him right now?”.
The “In Da Club” rapper wrote alongside it: “The lie detector test has determined this was a lie…”
Prior to the hotel security footage coming to light, Diddy had strongly denied all of the allegations against him including claims that he had trapped Cassie in “a cycle of abuse, violence and sex trafficking” during their relationship.
