Much has been said about the love story of Madonna and Sean Penn, considered by much of the press as “the most toxic in Hollywood”.
Violence, jealousy, and accusations of infidelity, were some of the remarks in which one of the most famous couples was involved.
Almost 4 decades after their first date, they are still talked about despite their divorce in 1989. In a recent interview with The New York Times, Sean Pean denied hitting Madonna with a baseball bat during the four years of their marriage (1985-1989).
“I had a damn SWAT team come into my house,” Penn said. In addition, he added that the artist had told the police that she was worried about the weapons inside her house. “I said, ‘I’m not going out. I’m going to finish my breakfast.’ The next thing I knew, they were smashing windows all over the house and they broke in.”

The two-time Oscar winner for best actor said he still has a soft spot for Madonna. “She’s someone I love,” he added. About his separation from the Material Girl, he said that it was easier to separate a friendship after a divorce because there was no child in between, a situation contrary to what happened with his ex-wife Robin Wright, who took a long time.” There was a lot of drama. It’s much more important to repair it if there are children involved, but it’s not easy, right?” he said.

Madonna Denies Suffering Violence
The singer has also denied in the past that she was a victim of violence by the actor, in 2015, she even wrote a statement in defense of Penn in a defamation lawsuit against Lee Daniels.

“While we certainly had more than one heated argument during our marriage, Sean never hit, ‘tied me up,’ or physically assaulted me, and any reports to the contrary are completely outrageous, malicious, reckless, and false,” she said.
