A new Swiftie has been born and in the middle of Taylor Swift‘s concert, something that doesn’t happen every day and the way it happened is very shocking…
A 24-year-old young woman gave birth while waiting for the moment to enjoy the music of her biggest idol in Brazil last November 19. And the most random thing is that she didn’t know she was pregnant!
Maria Eduarda began to feel strong pains in her abdomen since she was waiting in line to enter the venue. Once inside, she went to the bathroom to take a breather, and that’s when her water broke.
We cannot imagine the fear, surprise, and shock the young woman felt at that moment. Fortunately, although she was no longer able to enjoy Taylor Swift’s concert, she and her baby Maria Flor are fine, as reported by local media.
It seems that Taylor Swift’s concerts in Brazil will be marked by great surprises and unfortunately, also tragedies, such as the death of a fan due to a possible heat stroke.
But How Is it Possible That She Didn’t Know She Was Pregnant?
Ok, surely, many people will wonder how it is possible to give birth without knowing they’re pregnant. Taylor’s fan’s friend detailed that the young woman never showed a bulging abdomen, and although there was discomfort, she attributed them to cramps, plus her menstruation never changed.
In fact, they shared an image of the woman where she is supposed to be 8 months pregnant, and it doesn’t look like a baby is on the way. And yes, although it is not very common, there are cases where pregnancies go unnoticed.
According to experts, this happens mainly due to self-denial. Dr. Anna David, an expert in obstetrics at the University of London, explained to the BBC that one in every 2,500 pregnancies are hidden. Most are younger women.
“There can be all kinds of reasons why someone does not realize it, does not want to realize it, or does not want to make her condition known (…) It could be that the woman is worried about a negative reaction from her family and this causes her not to realize she is pregnant or does not notice the symptoms she is having,” the expert explained.
Dr. Patrick O’Brien, a spokesperson for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (RCOG) in the United Kingdom, also commented to the aforementioned media that “there are women who have very irregular menses and do not have nausea, so these signs may not be present.”
“Women who are overweight may not notice the increased abdominal bulge and may not feel the baby move. Sometimes all of these things coincide, and the woman is unaware of her condition,” he added.
Sometimes, even with pregnancy, in the first few months, the woman has light bleeding, which is mistaken for menstruation. It can also be the case that the fetus is very small and is not so easily detected, regardless of the woman’s weight.
