The case of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has become one of the most controversial in recent weeks, and now, three weeks after the rapper’s arrest, Janice Combs has come forward to defend her son.
Like any mother would, Janice spoke out about the situation, stating that while her son may not have been entirely honest about his relationship with Cassie, that doesn’t mean he’s guilty of all the charges brought against him.
She expressed being devastated by everything that’s happening to her son and the ordeal they’ve faced over the past three weeks.
How Diddy’s Mother Defended Him After His Arrest
Janice addressed the case with Local 10 News through her lawyer, claiming that her son is being judged based on a “narrative created out of lies.”
The rapper’s mother explained that she’s going through a difficult time after hearing all the accusations against Diddy.
“It is truly agonizing to watch the world turn against my son so quickly and easily over lies and misconceptions, without ever hearing his side or affording him the opportunity to present his side,“ she said.
She commented on the infamous video that shows Diddy allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie in a hotel. While she didn’t deny what happened, since the video is evidence enough, she remarked that it’s hard to believe at a point where the lines between truth and lies are blurred.

“Sometimes, the truth and a lie become so closely intertwined that it becomes terrifying to admit one part of the story, especially when that truth is outside the norm or is too complicated to be believed.”
Janice Combs Asked for Diddy to Be Given a Chance to Defend Himself
The rapper’s mother admitted that after Cassie filed a lawsuit against her son, everything slowly started to unravel. However, she believes Diddy deserves the opportunity to appear in court and prove his innocence after being publicly accused of serious charges like abuse, violence, and human trafficking.
“My son is not the monster they have painted him to be,” Janice asserted, showing her unwavering support for him. She made it clear she will stand by her son as he faces his court date on October 9.
Janice emphasized again that her son “is not the monster they have painted him to be,” underscoring that she will support Diddy when he appears in court on October 9, “he deserves the chance to tell his side. I can only pray that I am alive to see him speak his truth and be vindicated.”
