Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery, typically adversaries are now collaborating on a streaming package featuring Disney+, Hulu, and Max.
In an announcement, the companies revealed plans for a the new bundle with Disney+, Hulu, and Max, set to roll out this summer in the U.S although specific pricing and launch details are yet to be disclosed.
Disney and WBD shared that consumers can purchase the bundle through any of the three streaming platforms‘ websites, offering both ad-supported and ad-free options.

While the applications and content from each entity will remain distinct, Disney recently integrated Hulu content into Disney+ for subscribers of both services. It’s also worth mentioning that Hulu already has existing agreements to offer add-on subscriptions for Max and Paramount Global’s Paramount+ alongside Showtime.

This triumvirate of streaming platforms promises “unmatched entertainment value and an extensive array of content from renowned brands in the entertainment industry, including ABC, CNN, DC, Discovery, Disney, Food Network, FX, HBO, HGTV, Hulu, Marvel, Pixar, Searchlight, Warner Bros., and many others,” as stated by the companies on Wednesday.
Additionally, Disney and WBD, in conjunction with Fox Corp., are teaming up to introduce a streaming sports package, scheduled for release in the fall.
According to Joe Earley, Disney is “On the heels of the very successful launch of Hulu on Disney+, this new bundle with Max will offer subscribers even more choice and value,” he added that this new partnership “puts subscribers first, giving them access to blockbuster films, originals, and three massive libraries featuring the very best brands and entertainment in streaming today.”
Warner Bros. Discovery’s JB Perrette, CEO and president of global streaming and games also commented on the matter, stating that “This new offering delivers for consumers the greatest collection of entertainment for the best value in streaming, and will help drive incremental subscribers and much stronger retention. Offering this unprecedented entertainment value for fans across all the complimentary genres these three services offer, presents a powerful new roadmap for the future of the industry.”
With streaming significantly reshaping the landscape of the pay-TV sector, the collaboration between typically competing media entities to offer streaming bundles appears to be an effort to recreate the cable TV model.
