There’s no doubt a legendary duo in cinema is the one by director Martin Scorsese and actor Leonardo DiCaprio, who, after collaborating on six films, is now lining up for a new project: the biopic of Frank Sinatra.
From what is known, if there’s anything missing from this fantastic duo, it’s a new biographical film, which they haven’t tackled together since 2004 when ‘The Aviator’ was released.
It’s about the biopic of the life and work of one of the most iconic musical stars of all time, the one and only Frank Sinatra.

The 81-year-old filmmaker has not yet obtained the blessing of Sinatra’s daughter, Tina, who holds the music and image rights of her father and has not yet given a ‘green light’ for this film. However, that hasn’t stopped Scorsese from already lining up a star-studded cast for the film, led by DiCaprio and including stars like Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar and Golden Globe winner.
The collaborations between Scorsese and DiCaprio
The working relationship between the award-winning director and the celebrated actor began in 2002 when DiCaprio, who had gained much popularity (and crushes) after rising to fame in Titanic and solidifying his career in more serious roles like “The Beach” by Danny Boyle or “Catch Me If You Can” by Steven Spielberg.
Year 2002 marked the beginning of this relationship in “Gangs of New York,” where DiCaprio worked under Martin Scorsese’s direction for the first time. It was also the actor’s first nomination for a Golden Globe.
After this, they worked on the following films: “The Aviator,” “The Departed,” “Shutter Island,” “The Wolf of Wall Street,” and “Killers of the Flower Moon.” These works have earned them numerous awards and nominations, including Oscars for Best Picture and Best Director for Martin Scorsese in 2006 thanks to “The Departed.”
