Inside Out 2 hasn’t premiered yet, but it’s already become one of this year’s favorite and most controversial films. Why? Pixar has given us the first glimpses of the film, offering a little more insight into what this second part of the story we all identify with will be about.
What Will Inside Out 2 Be About?
While the first introduced us to the characters living inside Riley’s head as a girl discovers her emotions, the new production will focus on her transition into adolescence. In the process, the young girl experiences other emotions, as revealed in the latest trailer. We already knew Joy, Anger, Fear, Disgust, and Sadness, and now Boredom, Anxiety, Shame, and Envy join the mix—quite an intense subject, which will hit theaters on June 14, 2024. Inside Out 2 might have Disney’s first bisexual character.
Unfortunately, this second official trailer, presenting Riley’s new emotions, has brought back the old theory that the young girl is bisexual.

According to several users on social media, they claim that the protagonist is bisexual because the emotions in her head are both male and female, something that doesn’t happen with her parents. In her mom’s case, they’re all women, and with her dad, they’re all men. This has sparked a strong controversy on the Internet, as while some overlook this detail, others believe it’s not appropriate, especially for a Disney-Pixar film, where the majority of the audience are minors.
It’s not the first time this theory has spread, yet the company has not made any statements about it. However, Inside Out 2 would give a more obvious hint that Riley is bisexual, as users point out that the young girl wears a sweater with colors similar to those of the LGBT+ flag. These are mere speculations, but what’s for sure is that we’re dying to see this second part of Inside Out, which, even before its release, has won our hearts.
