Crosby revealed that Matthew Perry wanted Zac Efron to be in charge of playing him during his youth because, in the past, he had collaborated with him for the movie Seventeen Again, a film in which both would have made a good match.
“He wanted Zac Efron to play him as a younger version (of himself) and he was going to ask him soon to do it. He was eager to share more about his story and his recovery from addiction, and really champion that cause to help more people, so he was very optimistic and happy with everything he wanted to do,” Athenna said.
