Mean Girls is and will forever remain one of the comedy gems of the 2000s and now, almost twenty years after its premiere, the original cast of the film surprised us with a reunion that we did not see coming. The cast of the movie decided to get together for an epic commercial that from the second one filled us with nostalgia, as it presented us with what the life of each of the girls is like today. Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert return in their iconic roles to give us a fun commercial for Walmart’s ‘Black Friday’.
The reunion of Mean Girls
The commercial returns us to North Shore High School 19 years after what we saw in Mean Girls, to show us that our beloved girls continued their lives fulfilling their dreams. Cady Heron is now a school counselor, Karen Smith has become a weather reporter, and Gretchen Wieners has the important job of being a mother to one of the new ‘Mean Girls’.

The Walmart commercial begins with Candy assuring us that despite time, “some things never change. “We still wear pink on Wednesdays, but now we shop for Walmart Black Friday deals.” In addition, the advertisement also gives us multiple references to the film, which any fan of the movie will appreciate, so the now classic Christmas presentation of Jingle Bell Rock could not be missing.
And Regina George?
The entire Mean Girls reunion commercial is perfect, except for one small detail, Regina George, played by Rachel McAdams, is not in it. The reason? According to Page Six, although Walmart offered to appear in the commercial, Rachel was not convinced by the idea, so after analyzing it she decided to reject the offer.
Without a doubt, it would have been wonderful to see the queen bee at this reunion, but we hope that in the future seeing all the girls together will be a dream that comes true. That’s so fetch! We leave you the complete commercial for the return of Mean Girls for you to enjoy.
