The knitting story came to an end. Tom Daley has announced his retirement after 16 years of making Olympic history.

The end of the great career of the British diver has arrived and although his retirement makes us a little sad, today we remember with pride his great achievements throughout history in which he won one Olympic gold, one silver and three bronze medals.

“There was a lot of pressure and expectations, I was eager for it to be done. But when I walked out, and saw my husband and kids and my friends and family in the audience, I was like, you know what? This is exactly why I did this,” he told British Vogue.

Daley, who first competed in the Olympics at just 14 during the 2008 Beijing Games, has grown into one of Britain’s most beloved athletes.
