The greatest fashion party is just around the corner and, like every year, The Met Gala awakens great anticipation among fashion enthusiasts and the curious. This interest goes beyond the outfits and focuses on the celebrities who will attend the grand event.
One such case is the actress Zendaya, who in recent years has been one of the celebrities that everyone talks about when she participates in the charity event in favor of the Costume Institute, now known as the Anna Wintour Costume Center, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
As every first Monday of May, fashion houses, designers, and media will once again converge at the Metropolitan Museum for the event, whose theme this year is: “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” with a dress code of “The Garden of Time.”
Jonathan Anderson, creative director of Loewe, and Shou Chew, CEO of TikTok, will be the honorary chairs of the event, while Jennifer Lopez, Chris Hemsworth, and Bad Bunny will be the co-hosts, alongside Zendaya.
The star of Euphoria and, recently, Challengers has always caused a sensation on the Met red carpet, although she hasn’t walked it since 2019. The former Disney star has become synonymous with haute couture as her career has progressed, thanks in part to the work of her stylist Law Roach, who has created spectacular looks that have established her as one of the best-dressed at the event.
Here are some of the famous actress’s best looks before the event:
Grand debut
In her grand debut on the Met red carpet in 2015 with the theme “China: Through the Looking Glass,” Zendaya attended in an asymmetrical dress by Fausto Puglisi, featuring a combination of black and red colors, as well as sun motifs adorning the skirt.

Not-so-Met dress
In 2016, the theme of the event was “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology.” On that occasion, Zendaya wore a one-shoulder dress by Michael Kors. The metallic dress had a high neckline and was covered in sparkles.
Although the actress looked spectacular and the dress had the futuristic feel that the event’s theme required, it was not at all memorable, but some people say she was on-spot with the theme of the gala.
Printed Dolce & Gabbana
In 2017, the star decided to step up her look. That year, the theme was “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between,” celebrating the avant-garde work of the artist.
Zendaya wore a Dolce & Gabbana dress that fit with the theme of the night. The yellow outfit featured a pattern of parrots and red flowers, with red fabric flowing from the sleeves to the shoulders and tail.
A modern Joan of Arc
Faith and fashion had never been so closely linked as in 2018 during the Met Gala that celebrated “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.” On this occasion, Zendaya referenced one of the most relevant historical and religious figures in Catholicism: Joan of Arc.
Dressed by the fashion house Versace, her outfit was made of chainmail and had an armor cape covering her neck, shoulders, and waist. A tail flowed from the long-sleeved dress, adding even more drama to the ensemble.
The star also wore her hair in a short red bob for the event.

Cinderella goes camp
In 2019, many celebrities struggled with the theme: “Camp” at the Met Gala, but Zendaya and Roach had no trouble embodying it in a fun performance. The pair arrived dressed by Tommy Hilfiger. The actress looked like a Disney Cinderella and had a whole princess-like moment at the red carpet.
