Pride Month is here, and we know that for many people, it means a very special moment to highlight the struggle and celebration of LGBTQ pride.
The precedent was the Stonewall Riots in the early morning of June 28, 1969, leading to a historic protest for the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer people, and sparking gay liberation amidst oppression and homophobia. Thanks to this, thousands of people can celebrate in their respective countries and build community with others who are part of the sexuality spectrum.

For many, attending a festival or Pride for the first time can be nerve-wracking, but don’t worry! It’s all about having fun, building a community, and showing the world that we exist and resist.
If you still don’t know what to wear, here are some options to inspire you and help you prepare a fabulous outfit so you’re more than ready for Pride!
Graphic T-Shirts

What about a cool and fun graphic tee that shows a little bit of sassiness?
Maximalism

Why go minimal when you can go crazy? You can rock a Maximalist outfit by mixing your favorite colors and adding different shapes and patterns.

Skirts

Are you team cold weather or hot weather? Whichever side you prefer, you can always incorporate a skirt into your outfit despite the weather.
The heat wave will not defeat us! A nice skirt fits anybody and can totally increase our comfort.

Mesh

Mesh tops are amazing. You can find these in short-sleeve or long-sleeve cuts with different colors and patterns.
Pros: the material is thin, they are easy to style, and they look amazing on anyone. Cons: none!
Rainbow
Well, of course, the obvious: you can use the rainbow or the colors in your flag. But this idea is by no means basic. Think about it: you can identify people who share the same sexuality/identity as you, make some new friends, and who knows, maybe find the love of your life? Or maybe just a 4-month situationship. Lol, just kidding. Unless…

In the end, it’s all about how you feel comfortable and letting your style and personality shine through. Remember, you don’t need to meet anyone’s standards to fit in. Just be yourself, and most importantly: be proud of it!
For some other tips if you are attending a Pride Parade or Event, here are some must-haves:

- Comfortable shoes (unless you are ready to risk comfort over fashion which is understandable)
- Pride Flags and Accessories: flags, pins, hats, or any accessories will do!

Do not forget to bring a positive attitude. Be respectful of others and celebrate diversity!
