In recent weeks, a restaurant in Japan shocked thousands of people on social networks when it was announced that they offered axolotls on their menu. That news, especially in Mexico where the species is in danger of extinction and is a reference, put several organizations on alert and provoked messages of total condemnation.
The Restaurant Sells Panda Meat
Now, it was announced that this Japanese restaurant also offers other dishes such as panda bear meat in its “exotic food.” Of course, the surprise has been enormous in the face of another species preserved for decades and is revered in multiple Asian countries. The Chinju-ya restaurant in Yokohama not only sells fried axolotls but also includes other animals such as squirrels and even killer whales. Several users on social networks have reported other exotic dishes such as raccoons, brown bears, frogs, cockroaches, and giant worms.
The complaint became more relevant after it was published that the restaurant required reservations precisely with the argument that its dishes represented exotic food from different parts of the world.
