Amber Heard started her new life with everything. A year after the controversial defamation trial, she finally paid what she owed Johnny Depp. The actress paid half a million dollars as part of the sentence after losing the trial against her ex-partner.
In the first instance, the jury set the amount of $10 million fine against Amber for damaging the image of the actor, after accusing him of domestic violence in an interview for The Washington Post. Fortunately for the Aquaman star, her ex agreed to settle the case in December 2022, limiting the compensation to one million, an amount that has already been paid.
The money, according to the actress’ insurance company, will be distributed among the charities Make-A-Film Foundation, The Painted Turtle, Red Feather, Tetiaroa Society, and Amazonia Fund Alliance. Let’s remember that Johnny was also supposed to compensate Amber with 2 million dollars, but his legal team is working to avoid paying what corresponds to the counterclaim, also for defamation.

Amber Heard Starts a New Life in Spain
A couple of weeks ago, a couple of pictures of Amber Heard in Spain, a country she likes and chose to start a new life with her little daughter Oonagh, far from scandals, were spread. The actress not only changed her residence. According to local media, she also changed her name to Martha Jane Cannary or Calamity Jane, which she chose in honor of an American explorer of the 19th century.
But that’s not all. Amber also changed her language to Spanish, since she is fluent in it. For the moment, the actress does not plan to return to Tinseltown, not even for her acting work, but, according to her friend, “she will probably come back when the time is right, for the right project.”
Amber Heard Already Had Plans to Move to Spain
We didn’t expect this radical start, but it seems that Amber Heard had already given signs of her intention to move to Spain. First, in July 2022, she sold her house in Yucca Valley, California; then, in October of that same year, the actress was captured on the beaches of Palma de Mallorca; and finally, they were seen playing with her two-year-old daughter in a park in that country.
All this is happening a little over a year after the controversial trial where Amber was found guilty of defamation against Johnny.
