Angelina Jolie Drops Lawsuit Against FBI Over Alleged Brad Pitt Abuse Investigation

Angelina Jolie has withdrawn her lawsuit against the FBI regarding its investigation into alleged abuse by Brad Pitt during a 2016 flight. According to court documents, Jolie filed to dismiss the case on September 25, with both parties now responsible for their own legal fees.

The lawsuit stemmed from an incident where Pitt allegedly assaulted Jolie and their children aboard a private plane. Pitt has consistently denied the allegations, and the FBI concluded its investigation in November 2016 without filing charges. Just days later, Jolie officially filed for divorce.

Jolie, under the pseudonym “Jane Doe,” sought information about the FBI’s investigation, claiming it involved domestic violence where she and her children were victims. Sources at the time suggested this was part of her strategy in the ongoing custody battle over their six children, a legal matter still unresolved.

According to reports, Pitt allegedly “strangled one child and struck another in the face” during the flight from France to California. While these claims surfaced in legal documents, Pitt has denied them, and no charges were ever brought against him.

Once seen as one of Hollywood’s most beloved couples after meeting on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Jolie and Pitt’s relationship has soured amid the ongoing legal battles. In addition to their custody dispute, they are also locked in a legal fight over ownership of a vineyard worth $500 million.

Adding to the family tensions, some of the couple’s six children—those who have reached adulthood—have legally removed Pitt’s surname.

Just recently, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter Shiloh, received court approval to remove “Pitt” from her full name, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, leaving her with just “Shiloh Jolie.” According to TMZ, there was no formal hearing and the petition was simply granted without any drama.

The daughter of the famous ex-couple decided to change her name shortly after turning 18, filing the request just three days after her birthday on May 27.

But Shiloh isn’t the only one opting for a different name. In the Playbill for the new musical The Outsiders, their daughter Vivienne is listed as “Vivienne Jolie” instead of “Vivienne Jolie-Pitt.”

Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt, who is 19, also appeared to have dropped the “Pitt” from her last name last November when she joined the Mu Pi chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at Spelman College. The oldest daughter introduced herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie,” according to a video shared by Essence.
