After the death of OJ Simpson last Wednesday, headlines were filled with Caitlyn Jenner’s response expressing joy over the death of her former friend of over 30 years.
Caitlyn and OJ met when Robert Kardashian represented the former player in the murder trial of his wife. RK was married to Kris, who later married Bruce Jenner, now Caitlyn. When Caitlyn Jenner learned of what Simpson had done, she severed all ties with him and has indeed mentioned that she never believed in his innocence, just like his defense attorney, Robert.

On Wednesday when news of the player’s death broke, Caitlyn shared a “Good Riddance” on her X account, formerly Twitter, referring to OJ. Many users began to mock and criticize her, saying she had no right to attack Simpson like that when she had been involved in a car accident where someone died.
Caitlyn defended herself by saying that a terrible car accident cannot be compared to a brutal murder (let’s remember that Nicole Brown Simpson, OJ’s wife, and Ron Goldman were found stabbed to death). CJ also recalled that before murdering Nicole, the former player threatened her, saying something like “he could kill her and still get away with it because he was OJ Simpson.”
Caitlyn Jenner’s Car Accident
Caitlyn Jenner was involved in a fatal car accident that resulted in the death of a woman. A huge difference between the murder committed by OJ Simpson and Caitlyn’s accident is that she was not accused of vehicular manslaughter or any other crime. The District Attorney established that Caitlyn was not speeding but braked late when she collided with a Lexus. The D.A. said they couldn’t prove Caitlyn acted recklessly and chose to dismiss the case.
OJ Simpson’s case, on the other hand, besides being highly controversial in how he was acquitted of the crimes in criminal court, was later found liable in a civil court for the double murder of his wife Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman. It’s worth mentioning that the murders were deliberate.
