The final part of Penelope and Collin‘s love story from Netflix series ‘Bridgerton‘ has arrived and not to be anxious, but we already want to know what’s going to happen now. Who will we see fall in love in the next season?
Just like in past seasons, the show wraps up with the main couple in a happy place. However, there are still plenty of stories to unfold. The ending of Season Three hints at several ‘Bridgerton‘ siblings possibly finding love in the already confirmed Season Four.
‘Bridgerton’ Season 4 Couple
‘Bridgerton’ premiered in 2020, kicking off with Daphne Bridgerton’s (Phoebe Dynevor) romance with Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page), a somewhat moody duke. Season Two shifted the focus to Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), who set aside his playboy ways to fall for Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley). Coming up in Season Three, the spotlight will be on Colin (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan).
But the question everyone wants to answer is who is next on the list?
While ‘Bridgerton’ is inspired by Julia Quinn’s romance novels, the books might not be the best guide for what’s coming next in the show.
If the series stuck to the book order, Season Three would have focused on Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson). Instead, it highlighted his younger brother, Colin.
When asked about the lead for the next season, showrunner Jess Brownell told Refinery29 that she wouldn’t reveal which couple will be featured in Season Four.

“I can tell you that I know who it’s gonna be,” Brownell said. “We are in the middle of writing it right now.”
But Brownell told TODAY.com that the end of Season Three offers hints about who might take the romantic lead in Season Four.
“I think there are some clues,” she said. “It’s not completely obvious where we’re going, but there are definitely hints for fans to theorize about.”
At the end of the season, Colin and Penelope settle into married life and welcome a son after her identity as Lady Whistledown is revealed to Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) and the rest of the Ton.
Meanwhile, three other Bridgertons go through major changes. Francesca marries John Stirling, Earl of Kilmartin her first husband in the books. She also meets his cousin, Michaela Stirling, a notable deviation from the novels.
Francesca decides to relocate to Scotland to live on his estate, prompting Eloise to ask to join her, reasoning, “I can’t change the world without seeing more of it.”
Meanwhile, Benedict’s affair with Tilley Arnold (Hannah New) leads to his first onscreen kiss with another man and sparks his desire to live beyond society’s confines.
None of these situations explicitly positions anyone to take the lead in Season Four, though there are hints that seem to foreshadow how their stories begin.

In Eloise’s book, “To Sir Phillip, With Love,” she notably leaves home shortly after Penelope and Colin’s wedding to meet her pen pal, Phillip Crane, igniting romance.
When Will Season 4 Be Released?
The premiere date for “Bridgerton” Season Four hasn’t yet been announced. Brownell mentioned to Refinery29 that even she isn’t aware of the release date. However, the fourth season may not arrive until spring 2026, according to its showrunner, who commented that production has been costing them 2 years per season.
“We actually don’t know when it’s gonna drop,” Brownell said. “We’re still focusing on crafting the best possible script before we begin production.”
